Authentic Montana Log Cabin
Enjoy your mornings and evenings overlooking Flathead Lake watching the eagles from your own private cabin with covered porch.
Property Description
Historic Log Studio Cabin Rental nestled in a cherry orchard with outstanding Flathead Lake views. Newly restored cabin with antique furnishings. The cabin is located 15 miles south of Bigfork. Perfect for 2 people, this log cabin rental can accommodate up to 4 guests. Great deck overlooking Flathead Lake and Wild Horse Island, with a short drive (or walk) to the State Park, public beach and boat ramp. Peaceful and private in the Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana.
Built in 1932, this log cabin was hand hewn from trees taken to clear the surrounding cherry orchards. Built as a homesteader’s cabin when the east lake shore was a very remote location with few families living at Yellow Bay. The cabin was used as a home for many years, then a cherry pickers cabin, and was in disrepair when the cabin was saved……..
In 1996 the cabin was completely restored, creating a warm cozy retreat with the charm of a by-gone era. Retaining the original logs, floors, windows and aged charm were very important, as were adding all the necessary modern luxuries.
The studio cabin has a fully equipped kitchen & bath, a queen size log bed, nice woodstove, and a deck with a gas barbeque. The cabin is furnished with everything you could need including pots, pans, dishes, wine opener, gas bbq, microwave, range, refrigerator, towels, bedding, books, games, etc. We also have wireless internet access. (No TV-No Phone, but cell phone service is available)
We hope that you enjoy this little piece of Montana History. It is a very special place to us and to all who come to stay in our little log cabin.

Testimonials
This 1930s cabin has been beautifully restored and had everything we needed to make this a great stay. So many extra touches (like the cute way the towels were folded to the sweet dishes). The bed was very comfy! The setting was serene and the view of the lake unparalleled. We spent our evenings enjoying the firepit and taking in the Montana air and scenery. We loved it!
From the time we set foot on the property we knew that we had made the right choice. Cabin was clean, rustic, and had everything needed for the stay. The view from the porch was amazing and Is a great place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. The only downside was we wished we had booked a longer stay!
Our stay at this cabin was just perfect! The place was very clean, and we appreciated the relaxed check in time frame since we had to drive a long distance. The cabin was super clean. It was also in an idea spot for exploring this part of Montana, which was absolutely gorgeous! It was quiet and private, and the views were beautiful. We will be staying here again!
My husband and I started our 15 year anniversary trip off here. What a romantic little place. The cabin was perfect for a couple and the views were amazing. Getting in and out onto the main road was super close. It was very peaceful and a quiet location. We enjoyed grilling dinner and drinking wine on porch as well as having breakfast there too. Sitting on the hill watching the sunset and lake activity, eating cherries off the trees, enjoying the wild flowers/nature and sleeping with the windows open is about as good as it gets! Also visited Glacier Park one day and was blown away! We will be back!
My wife and I escaped to this rustic log cabin for a few nights and were thoroughly impressed! The cabin was clean, the decor was a perfect mix of every outdoor cabin or camping trip from 1930-1970...So well done! All the amenities that you need and none of the ones that you won’t miss for a true cabin getaway. Beautiful views and gracious hosts that tend to your every need. I can see why they are rated as 5star super hosts. We will be back and in the mean time we will recommend this location to everyone! Thank you for the wonderful memories!
What a wonderful location with fantastic view! The cabin was so cozy and comfortable. Rustic, yet with all the modern comforts needed. We absolutely loved the fire pit and spent our evenings there. The sunsets were beautiful, the view of Wild Horse Island and the lake were just stunning! Thank you, George and Shauna, for sharing this beautiful piece of heaven with us!
My husband and I began our honeymoon trip here, and couldn't have asked for a better start to our adventure. We absolutely loved the cabin. It offered a beautiful view of the lake, and it was the perfect place to unplug and unwind. We are already talking about a return trip, and hopefully bringing family and friends with us next time to show them this incredible spot!
I cannot say enough about this VRBO property. I have found my new "happy place". The log cabin was updated perfectly and had everything we needed. The views of the lake from the front porch and lawn were breathtaking. It was peaceful and very relaxing. I would, and am, recommending this place to everyone.
This is our second time staying here, and it may become a yearly tradition! It seems like a lot of thought was put into every detail - wood and kindling ready to go, all the cookware you need, super-comfortable bed, nice barbeque grill - all you really need to pack is food and clothes. Although you could sleep four people, I believe it would be pretty cramped. But as a getaway for two it can't be beat. The cabin is clean and tight, with cool retro appliances that work perfectly. And the view from the spacious deck is gorgeous - we enjoy just sitting in the comfortable lounge chairs looking over the lake. We'll definitely be back!
